pH value difficult to adjust
Cause
Alkalinity of water is too high
Solution
Measure the alkalinity of water, in needed adjust pH adjustment
Problem
Lime scale is formed in the swimming pool and on the equipment
Cause
Too high pH value of water or too high content of calcium.
Solution
Too high pH value is reduced using pH agents. If the content of calcium is too high, add soft water. Do not use chlorine preparations containing calcium. Use Melpool CAL, which prevents the depositing of lime scale.
Problem
Smell of chlorine as well as skin and eyes irritation.

Free chlorine disappears very fast

Too low amount of free chlorine, intensive swimming, high pollution level and high temperature

Check the pump and the filter. Start the pump at “CIRCULATE” setting and check the current strength. Perform filter backwashing.
Replace at least one third of water with soft water. Do not use chlorine preparations containing calcium.

Solution
Add agents which reduce chlorine content or add fresh water.
Problem
Water is brownish or blue-green
Cause
Too high content of iron or copper.
Solution
Flocculation. Add Melpool CAL. In the worst scenario, replace half the water.

There is foam in the swimming pool
Cause
Overdosing the algaecide
Solution
In the next two weeks, do not add this agent. After that, dose the agent as recommended.

A black strip along the waterline.

Lower the water level and clean the dirt using a brush and Melpool GEL agent.
